Is it Obligatory for Rich People To Help Those Less Privileged Than Them?
Four questions? How about one at a time?
- Yes, rich people are morally obligated to help others. All people are have this moral obligation as charity is a virtue that helps result in a civil society. And to paraphrase the bible, to those whom much is given, much is expected. However, I do not believe in any legal obligation in this matter.
- I don’t believe your question of fairness has any relevance. Discussions of fair are usually for whiny bitches. Is it fair that your ancestors got to this land before mine, getting a head start on exploiting its riches? Is it fair that I was only born with a 130 IQ while my boss has 142? Is it fair that my nearest neighbor was born with bigger boobs than me? or that I can afford to buy even bigger boobs than she has if I want? Don’t talk to me about fair. Instead, go out and make your own fair.
- The rich do not take money from the less privileged. This is just an excuse made by lazy people who don’t want to put in the sweat required to improve their life.
- Yes, many rich people are selfish, just as many other people are selfish. This is one of the states of broken man, and is a carry over trait from when we were a subsistence race on the very edge of survival.
